Put corporations ahead of Nevada workers to oppose closing tax loophole for companies that outsource
Today Sen. John Ensign and GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle once again put tax breaks for big corporations that ship jobs overseas ahead of working Nevadans.
Ensign voted against a bill that would have closed tax loopholes for corporations that outsource jobs, while rewarding small manufacturers that bring jobs to the U.S.
But Ensign and Senate Republicans again played politics with American jobs, refusing to even debate the bill.
And if Sharron Angle were a U.S. Senator she would have been right there by their side, rooting for the economy to fail and voting against a measure that would have saved American jobs. Not only has she said she wouldn’t create a single job or even fight for the ones that already exist, she would fight for the corporations that send jobs overseas instead of creating American jobs.
But it’s not as if it’s the first time Angle and Ensign have stood by the side of big corporations instead of Nevada workers. In August the cozy pair opposed a measure that brought $83 million to the state of Nevada, saved 1,400 education jobs in the state and was paid for by closing tax loopholes for companies that ship jobs overseas.
"While Sen. Reid is fighting for every American job – and especially for jobs for Nevadans – Sharron Angle and her buddy John Ensign are fighting for tax breaks for big corporations that ship American jobs overseas,” said Phoebe Sweet, communications director for the Nevada State Democratic Party. “But what do you expect from the woman who said it’s not her job to create jobs or even to fight for the jobs we already have. In Sharron Angle and John Ensign’s Nevada, corporate interests always come first ahead of real people, and this state just can’t afford that brand of extreme leadership.”
