Los Democratas end a triumphant season |

A few months ago, the Nevada State Democratic Party decided to sponsor a soccer team in a local Las Vegas league. The purpose was to provide the party an opportunity to reach people who otherwise might not be involved in the political process, to educate people about the political process, and to mobilize people to participate in the upcoming Democratic Presidential Caucuses.
The past Friday, November 16th, the inaugural season of Los Democratas
came to end with a loss in the playoffs to the defending champions,
Guanacos. Los Democratas had a successful season reaching the
playoffs, and having the second leading scorer in the league, team
captain Assemblyman Ruben Kihuen.
In addition to their success on the field, Los Democratas allowed the
Party to register over 100 new Democrats and spread our message to
voters all over the country. The team garnered media attention both
locally and nationally from newspapers, magazines, radio shows, and
television news. This exposure is extremely helpful in our efforts to
mobilize voters to participate in the Caucus.
We are very proud of all the players and supporters who made this
effort a success, and want to send a sincere thank you to everyone for
their time and efforts. Although this season is over, stay tuned for
