Gibbons - State workers are "greedy" and taxpayers should not "whine"
Written by Paul Smith
Thursday, 14 May 2009
Over the last week Gov. Gibbons has ever-so-graciously taken the time to meet with a select group of Nevadans to discuss the state’s budget crisis. He’s taken the opportunity to insult constituents and bend the truth whenever possible.

In Incline Village, for example, Gibbons called state workers, including teachers, who are upset over the governor’s proposal to cut their pay by 6 percent “greedy."

Dean Heller Campaigns - You Pay
Written by Paul Smith
Friday, 24 April 2009
While Nevada families like you are doing their best to stretch their paychecks, Nevada’s Republican congressman isn’t shy about spending your money. The esteemed member of the “Party of No” is sending taxpayer-funded, political attacks against Democrats to his constituents as – according to the mailer – a “service.”

In a recent Flash, Las Vegas Sun columnist Jon Ralston takes Heller to task for this gross misuse of public funds.

“This is no informational piece – it’s a campaign brochure,” Ralston writes.

The Nevada State Democratic Party, with the help of supporters like you, is already hard at work reelecting Sen. Harry Reid and Democrats up and down the ballot.

Sherm Frederick - Elect Reid Because of What He Has Done for Nevada
Written by Paul Smith
Wednesday, 01 April 2009
Sherm Frederick’s at it again. The Review-Journal publisher posted another screed against Sen. Harry Reid today, this time arguing that we should reelect him because of what he’s done for Nevada rather than because he wields so much power in Washington, D.C.

Why, thanks, Sherm. That’s what we’ve been saying, too. Once again Sherm easily makes our point for us.

And while he claims it’s hard to think of what Reid’s done for us lately, Nevadans know otherwise.

Most of you will remember that at the beginning of March the Las Vegas Sun took Republicans to task over their hypocrisy regarding earmarks and economic recovery legislation.

Well today Las Vegas Review Journal columnist John L. Smith joined in with a column of his own, exposing Republicans for wanting to have it both ways with earmarks.

You can read the insightful piece here.

Republican Hypocrisy at Work
Written by Paul Smith
Friday, 06 March 2009
Last week Arizona Congressman Trent Franks and Fox News accused Sen. Harry Reid of supporting a proposal to fund a "super-train of sorts... from Disney to the doorstep of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch Brothel." Too bad no such project exists. Franks confused a proposal for a high-speed rail line from Southern California to Las Vegas with an 18-mile tourist train from Carson City to Virginia City. In today's Nevada Appeal, a spokesman for Franks finally admits it.

Check out the story in the Nevada Appeal.

Thursday, 05 March 2009
It's official: President Obama's energy secretary, Steven Chu, told members of Congress today that storing nuclear waste at yucca mountain is no longer an option.

The new Obama administration's position supports what Sen. Harry Reid has been saying for decades - and is a confirmation of the work he's been doing to end the flawed project

The Case for Harry Reid
Written by Paul Smith
Monday, 02 March 2009
It’s funny to hear Sherm Frederick whining about how his latest rant against Harry Reid has gone largely ignored. Fact is that even top Republicans are talking about how important Harry is to Nevada.

Just looking at Reid’s accomplishments in the last few weeks paints a clear picture of how much he’s done for our state.
