Nevada’s Democrats Pioneer GI Bill expansion |
Nevada’s Democrats in Washington -- Rep. Shelley Berkley and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — have spent months fighting Republicans to expand the GI Bill to ensure that our troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan have the opportunity to complete their education.
The new GI Bill, signed into law on June 30, restores full, four-year college scholarships to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to help make them part of an economic recovery — similar to the opportunity given to returning veterans of World War II.
